Canada US Border Remains Open To Commodities

Commercial goods are continuing to flow between the United States and Canada.

Bob Lowe, President of the Canadian Cattlemen's Association says for the survival of our industry in Canada we need that border open.

“Canada and the U-S have such a huge reciprocal trading thing, it’s more like one country than two countries. They're basically the same as we are, we export 50% of our production and 70% of that goes to the States. So, we kinda need that border open.  It’s not only beef its everything, its lettuce coming up here from California. We're talking food now.”

Lowe says keeping foreign workers coming into Canada will be key in maintaining the operation of our beef processing plants.
