Christmas Pork Promotion Draws Attention to Wide Variety of Available Pork Recipes

By Bruce Cochrane

Manitoba Pork Reports this year's Christmas pork promotion was highly successful in drawing attention to the wide range of pork recipes that are available through the consumer side of the Manitoba Pork web site.

As part of its 2014 12 Days of Christmas Holiday Giveaway Manitoba Pork awarded 12 fresh holiday pork packs valued at approximately $100 each.

Susan Riese, the Manager of Consumer Marketing and Community Relations Programs with Manitoba Pork, explains the contest was a way to engage with consumers on Facebook and Twitter which are becoming more and more popular all the time and draw attention to the wide range of recipes that can be accessed on and through the Manitoba Pork web site at manitobapork.com.

Susan Riese-Manitoba Pork:
The recipes are developed by ourselves here at Manitoba Pork.
We do all of the recipe testing and development so anything that we publish we can certainly speak to in terms of having tried the recipes themselves.
All of the publications that we've produced in the last couple of years are represented on our web site.

As well, for this holiday campaign we had a specific holiday page with recipes that are more inclined for people to try during the holiday season, things that are a little bit more festive.

Essentially there's stuffed pork roast, there's ham, there's crown roasts, anything that you would consider to be a little bit more upscale if you will yet still easy to prepare and appetizers as well but just something that's a little bit more festive.

We also have a new putporkonyourfork web site as well that's been revamped and revised so there's options for consumers to go there to get hundreds and hundreds of recipes.

Riese  notes, although the contest is now closed, the holiday recipes can actually be accessed year round.
