East Gen Launches Registration For 2024 Atlantic Showcase

Dear Atlantic Dairy and Beef Members,

With over 30 years of success in Atlantic Canada, the East Gen Showcase is scheduled for the Exhibition Grounds in Bible Hill, for July 2-4, 2024.  Registration is now open, and we are excited to welcome dairy and beef participants for three days of learning, friendships, and showing cattle.

For those not familiar with the EastGen Showcase, this is a competitive learning showcase for Atlantic beef and dairy participants.  It is open to dairy and beef members who are 13 years of age and older as of January 1 of the current 4-H year.  The program includes training and education on showing, judging, preparation, and management, as well as a competitive show.  Each year there are a variety of other topics relating to agriculture and dairy and beef that are also discussed. Over the years, there have been sessions on marketing, feeding your heifer, breeding, genomics, classification,  cattle photography, and the list goes on.  This is an exceptional training program for young people to advance their dairy and beef skills.  The event is an intensive program mixing clipping, judging, showmanship, and a competitive show alongside lectures and activities that participants are evaluated on throughout the event.

Please read the attached Participant Package to learn more about the Showcase, and become aware of registration, acceptance, scoring and calf wellness requirements.  There are also details on meals and accommodations in the Package, with participants being expected to stay at Dal AC residences in designated rooms for the event.   If you have any questions, please do not hessite to reach out for more information.
