EPA Honors Farmers on National Agriculture Day

Celebrating Farmers’ Contributions to Sustainability and Growth

The EPA recognizes the essential role that farmers and ranchers play in maintaining a sustainable and thriving agricultural sector.

On National Agriculture Day, the agency highlights their contributions to food security, environmental conservation, and economic growth.

"Agriculture is the foundation of the American economy and embodies the core of our American values. Under President Trump’s leadership, we are affirming our commitment to commonsense policies, to clear and consistent rules for all states, farmers, and small businesses.

EPA’s Agricultural Initiatives

To support farmers and ranchers, the EPA has outlined five priority areas:

• Environmental Stewardship – Encouraging sustainable farming practices to protect air, water, and land.

• Energy Efficiency – Strengthening agricultural biofuel production to reduce dependence on foreign energy.

• Regulatory Clarity – Simplifying policies to reduce compliance burdens while maintaining safety and sustainability.

• Technology Advancement – Promoting artificial intelligence and modern agricultural tools to enhance productivity.

• Economic Growth – Strengthening the agricultural industry through supply chain investments and job creation.

Regulatory Updates for Farmers

The EPA is also reviewing the definition of "waters of the United States" to ensure fair and effective regulations for farmers. The agency aims to reduce unnecessary costs while safeguarding water quality.

Through its “Powering the Great American Comeback Initiative,” the EPA continues to prioritize agricultural policies that align economic growth with environmental sustainability. Farmers remain essential partners in protecting natural resources while meeting the nation’s food demands.
