Faba Bean Feed Benchmark Aug. 3/18

Feed wheat and barley prices headed in different directions in the eastern versus western Prairies over the past two weeks, decreasing by an average $15/T in Manitoba while increasing by that same amount in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Corn pricing meanwhile remained stable with the drop in futures markets offset by the strengthening Canadian dollar. Corn DDGS prices recovered some value from 2 weeks ago and are now trading at a slight premium to corn prices. Soybean meal values remained unchanged in Manitoba but increased by $20-30T further west. Canola meal increased by $10-15/T in Manitoba and Saskatchewan but remained unchanged to slightly lower in Alberta. Feed peas traded in the $245-250/T range in the western Prairies and $255-265 range in Manitoba.
