Winning robot-tractor on display at Canada Farm Progress Show in Regina

The winning robot tractor entry from the University of Regina is on display at the Canada Farm Progress Show.

The entry won the 50-thousand dollar top prize in an Illinois contest to develop a robot tractor to seed a field.

One of the developers, Caleb Friedrick, says a map of a farmers’ field was put on a computer.

Friedrick says the winning prize money will be shared among the four University of Regina students.

He says developing a detailed map is one of the key issues for using a robot controlled seeding tractor.

The robot tractor is in the Canada Centre at the west edge of Evraz Place.
