Green Party Highlights Ag Agenda

The Green Party of Manitoba has laid out its agriculture platform heading into the September 10 provincial election.

Dr Martha Jo Willard is the Green Party candidate for Notre Dame.

"The goal is to preserve land and soil texture and make sure that the best farming practices are used based on evidence-based research," she said. "The goal in the policy platform is to maintain local farm ownership, organic farming, regenerative farming, to decrease pesticide use as much as humanly possible."

Other priorities for the Green Party include restoring wetlands, increasing the use of shelter belts and decreasing absentee land ownership.
