Hog Slat, Inc. announces the opening of its new retail location in Watford, Ontario, expanding the company’s Canadian operations to better serve livestock producers throughout the region.

The new Watford store, located at 5272 Nauvoo Road, opened in early August, and represents Hog Slat’s continued commitment to bringing local expertise and comprehensive livestock production solutions directly to producers where they need them most.

“This new location allows us to better serve Ontario’s agricultural community with the parts, equipment, and expertise they depend on,” said Scott MacDonald, General Manager. “Our Watford team brings local knowledge of livestock production backed by Hog Slat’s decades of experience in manufacturing innovative solutions for swine and poultry operations.”

The Watford location stocks a comprehensive selection of livestock production essentials, including feed and watering systems, ventilation equipment, housing solutions, biosecurity products, and repair parts with local service support. Each Hog Slat retail location is staffed by local teams with firsthand knowledge of livestock production and the specialized equipment that modern operations require.

Join The Wandering Shepherds as we say farewell to our cozy Calabogie cottage and take the scenic road trip home to Ewetopia Farms. Our first stop was a breathtaking hydroelectric generating station, framed by cliffs, rushing water, and brilliant fall leaves that seemed to have changed overnight. From there, we meandered along winding backroads through lakes and hills, soaking in the spectacular autumn scenery. This year, the colors seemed to arrive earlier than usual—perhaps due to the summer’s drought? Whatever the reason, it was an unforgettable display of Ontario’s fall beauty. Finally, our holiday drew to a close as we pulled back into Ewetopia Farms, ready to return to the sheep and our daily vlogs. But this trip reminded us how important it is to pause, explore, and appreciate the simple beauty around us.
