International customers tout quality of Canadian wheat

A number of international customers were on hand for Cereals Canada's 50th anniversary celebration held this week in Winnipeg.

Bobby Irawan is with PT Indofood Sukses Makmur in Indonesia, which uses Canadian wheat to make premium flour.

"I come to Canada and I see Canadian wheat quality control is very good and the consistency is very good. Our company Bogasari in Indonesia uses a lot of Canadian wheat," he said. "I think this program is very important and very good. Canadian wheat customers see how Canadian wheat keeps the consistency and keeps the quality from the farmer to our country."

AAFC Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau also attended the event before heading to Saskatchewan for this week's FPT meetings.

"It's great to celebrate 50 years and to be here to have the opportunity to visit the facilities and to meet with our great scientists and everyone working on developing new markets," said Bibeau.
