Iowa 4-H Launches New AI Bootcamp for High School Youth

By Sydney Peterson and Alexa Groff

Registration is now open for the new Iowa 4-H Artificial Intelligence Bootcamp, taking place Dec. 29–31 at the Digital Ag Innovation Center in Ames. This inaugural program invites all Iowa high school youth in grades 9–12 to explore artificial intelligence, computer science and emerging technologies through practical, hands-on learning. Participants do not need to be current 4-H members to attend.

Developed in collaboration with the Translational AI Center at Iowa State University, the Iowa 4-H AI Bootcamp introduces participants to the foundations of AI through hands-on learning. Youth will engage in projects involving machine learning, data ethics and real-world AI applications in areas such as agriculture, health and environmental systems. The program emphasizes both the development of technical skills and the responsible use of AI technologies.
