New EDIE™ Generation 2 Brings Automation and Precision to Farm Water Care

Kemin Industries, a global ingredient manufacturer, has introduced EDIE™ Generation 2, an advanced water disinfection application system designed for livestock and poultry farms.

"Water quality plays a critical role in animal health and operational productivity," said Dillon Mellick, Business Manager, Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health – North America. "With EDIE Generation 2, we are delivering connected intelligence that helps producers manage water disinfection more precisely, more efficiently, and with greater confidence."

EDIE™ Generation 2 is the latest step in modern water management technology. It combines automation, real time monitoring, and smart connectivity into one integrated platform.

The system is built to help farmers manage water disinfection more easily while reducing the need for manual work. Clean and safe water is essential for animal health, growth, and farm productivity, making this technology highly valuable for farm operations.

The system works directly within the water line and continuously monitors chlorine dioxide levels used for disinfection. It can also measure important water quality indicators such as pH and oxidation reduction potential. These features allow farmers to understand water conditions instantly and make informed decisions to maintain safe drinking water for animals.

EDIE™ Generation 2 includes automated data logging that records water usage, dosing history, and system performance. Mobile app connectivity enables remote access and sends alerts when attention is required.

Level sensors inform farm staff when chemical levels are low, helping prevent interruptions. A user-friendly controller with a clear LCD screen makes the system easy to operate.

Additional safety features protect the system from unauthorized changes, while visual indicators confirm active dosing. Flexible connectivity options such as Wi Fi and cellular support allow use in different farm environments. The system can also be retrofitted into farms already using earlier EDIE models.

EDIE™ Generation 2 works seamlessly with Kemin’s stabilized chlorine dioxide disinfectant, providing automated applications without manual mixing. Together, they support effective disinfection of drinking water, equipment, and farm premises.

This solution helps strengthen farm biosecurity and promotes healthier farming operations through better water hygiene.
