Kindersley Rancher Elected To SCA

The Saskatchewan Cattlemen's Association held their election for District 7 this week to replace outgoing board member Paula Larson.

Joleen Shea and William Coventry were both running for the position.

Following the vote Tuesday at Kerrobert, Joleen Shea was selected as the new Director for the District.

Shea lives in the Kindersley area where she operates a farm with her parents. They have a herd of 250 commercial cows where they breed Black Angus and Black Simmental.

She takes over from long time board member Paula Larson in February.

The SCA Board is made up of members from each of Saskatchewan's nine crop districts and is the provincial check-off agency for Saskatchewan beef producers.

Due to COVID-19, the SCA will be holding their district fall meetings as one virtual meeting on Oct 28th at 1:00pm.

The SCA AGM, which will also be virtual, will be held on Feb 1st, 2021 at 1:00 pm.
