Muller to retire from South Dakota Pork Producers Council

Glenn Muller, executive director of the South Dakota Pork Producers Council has announced his retirement date of June 30. In his 15 years of dedicated and distinguished service, Muller has been an incredible asset and friend to those in the pork industry, as well as agriculture. The South Dakota Pork Produces Council wishes him all the best as he transitions into his well-earned retirement and extends heartfelt thanks for all his years of service.

This week SDPPC announced the leadership vacancy and is seeking qualified candidates for the position of executive director. This role serves as the chief administrative officer of the organization, providing strategic leadership, advancing producer priorities and guiding the council’s mission to support and promote South Dakota’s pork industry.

The executive director is responsible for organizational management, industry relations, policy engagement, producer outreach and the oversight of key programs that strengthen the state’s pork sector. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience, exceptional communication skills and a deep commitment to serving South Dakota’s pork producers. Salary and compensation will be based on experience.

Key responsibilities Include:

  • Providing strategic leadership and operational oversight
  • Managing staff, programs and organizational resources
  • Representing the industry with state and national partners
  • Leading producer engagement, communications and outreach
  • Supporting policy and regulatory initiatives that affect producers
