Open house: A behind-the-scenes journey through science at Environment and Climate Change Canada

Gatineau, Quebec - Science is the foundation of Environment and Climate Change Canada’s work. Science supports our regulatory development, environmental enforcement, our weather and climate services, and it is the basis of our national leadership to take action on climate change. Environment and Climate Change Canada’s scientists and technologists work tirelessly in labs across the country to ensure Canadians enjoy a safe, clean, and sustainable environment.

On May 8, 9, and 15, 2019, we are opening research facilities to the public for the second year in a row. Canadians are invited to have a first-hand look inside our facilities in Montréal, Burlington, Ottawa, Toronto, and North Vancouver.

Visitors will have the opportunity to tour facilities housing some of the world’s leading research laboratories. They will be able to meet some of the best scientists in the world and ask them questions about their work. Some of their exciting tasks include monitoring air and water quality, studying ecosystem health and the impacts of climate change, conducting wildlife research, and improving our ability to predict extreme weather events.
