Eight more meat and poultry companies join USDA initiative

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced that eight additional meat and poultry companies have adopted the voluntary Product of USA label. The growing participation reflects increasing interest among processors and producers in providing consumers with clear information about where their food comes from.

The Product of USA label is designed to help shoppers easily identify products that are born, raised, harvested, and processed entirely within the United States. USDA officials say the initiative gives consumers greater confidence when purchasing meat and poultry products while supporting American farmers, ranchers, processors, and rural communities.

With the latest additions, more than 30 companies have committed to using the Product of USA label since the national campaign was launched earlier this year. The continued growth of the program demonstrates strong support from the agricultural sector and increasing consumer demand for products that are fully produced in the United States.

The newest companies joining the initiative represent several states and production sectors. These businesses include Mesorah Farms, KJ Poultry, Strauss Brands, Legacy Maker Farms, Demkota Ranch Beef, Delta Pride Catfish, Eel River Organic Beef, and Krogman Home Grown Meats. Their participation expands the availability of labeled products for consumers across the country.

USDA officials believe the label offers benefits throughout the agricultural supply chain. Farmers and ranchers may gain access to new market opportunities as consumers increasingly seek products that support domestic agriculture. Processors also benefit by highlighting the origin of their products and differentiating them in a competitive marketplace.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen the U.S. livestock and meat processing sectors. By encouraging companies to adopt the label, USDA aims to support independent ranchers, family farms, and domestic processors while improving transparency for consumers.

Consumer interest in locally and nationally sourced food has grown significantly in recent years. Many shoppers want more information about where their food is produced and how it reaches store shelves. The Product of USA label helps address these concerns by confirming that the product has completed key stages of production within the United States.

The program also works alongside other USDA efforts that support processing capacity and strengthen food supply chains. One example is the Strengthening Processing for U.S. Ranchers (SPUR) Program, which provides funding opportunities to help eligible small and mid-sized processors expand and modernize operations.

USDA leaders say these investments help create a more resilient food system while increasing opportunities for agricultural businesses.

“From the pasture to the dinner table, American families deserve to know that their food is American through and through. And as of today, 8 more companies are adding the Product of USA label to their product,” said Brooke L. Rollins.

She added, “Every company that adopts the Product of USA label is standing with our ranchers, our processors, and our rural communities. Now available in all 50 states, families can gather around the table this holiday season and be able to choose meat and poultry raised right here in America. Under President Trump’s leadership, USDA will keep working every day to put American farmers and ranchers first.”

Expanding domestic processing capacity remains a priority across the livestock sector. Additional processing resources can help producers access markets, improve efficiency, and support economic growth in rural communities. Programs such as SPUR are intended to complement labeling initiatives by creating stronger connections between producers, processors, and consumers.

The continued expansion of the Product of USA label highlights efforts to promote American agriculture and provide consumers with greater confidence in their purchasing decisions. As more companies adopt the label, shoppers will have additional opportunities to identify products that support U.S. farmers, ranchers, and processors.

USDA expects interest in the initiative to continue growing in the coming months. Additional companies are anticipating joining the program as consumer demand for domestically produced meat and poultry products remains strong. The label expansion reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen the agricultural economy while helping consumers make informed purchasing choices.
