Reseeded Acres Fared Well For 2015 Canola Crops

The executive manager of Manitoba Canola Growers says it was an interesting year for canola crops in the province.

Bill Ross says crops were decent across the province, despite adverse weather conditions. He says you never want to see a frost in late may like we did this year, but he notes it didn't hurt producers as much as they would have expected.

"So we lost about a million acres that were reseeded and most of those acres went back into canola, and so everybody was worried about the reseeded canola, but in the end, a lot of the reseeded canola actually ended up better than the canola that was seeded in the early spring," he says.
