Results of the 2014 Missouri Pork Classic Golf Tournament

Columbia, Mo.,— The Missouri Pork Association hosted the annual Missouri Pork Classic on June 24, 2014, at Columbia’s L.A. Nickell Golf Course. This year’s tournament was a tremendous success, assembling a total of thirty-six teams comprised of area producers and industry representatives. Players enjoyed great food and endless fun on the course. Several prizes were awarded during the annual Rib Fest immediately following the tournament, including those listed below.

First, second and third place were recognized with cash prizes in Flights A and B. Flight A results were as follows: With a score of 52, first place was awarded to Greg Reed, Keith Whitney, Terry Whitney, and Rob Rush, whose team was sponsored by Raymond James Financial. Second place in Flight A went to Kerry Thomas, Willis Robb, Bruce Mulnix, and JD McCarty, whose team was sponsored by Joe Machens Dealership, with a score of 53. In third place: Kerry North, Edna Speaker, Connie Welch, and Cindy Metts, sponsored by Mt. Zion Homestead and Hebron Hills Inc., scoring 54.

Flight B results are as follows: first place went to Marc Miller, Tim MEssman, Doug Fleshman and Jamie Pribyl, sponsored by Lynch Livestock and Smithfield-Farmland. Second place was awarded to the team of Shanda Nichols, Gary Tompkins, Bob Idel, and Joe Abbott, sponsored by FCS Financial. Finally, third place in Flight B went to the MU DASS team of Mike Monson, Ryan Beumer, Clay Koenig, and Keith Dohrman. Each of these teams had a score of 65, and they were ranked by using a tie-breaker.

Additional cash prizes were awarded in various categories, including: Longest Putt - Jeff Case of Rabo AgriFinance; Longest Drive - David Henderson playing for the State Fair Commission Team; Longest Drive Women - Kerry North representing Hebron Hills and Mt. Zion Homestead, and Closest to Hole - Bill Bayless with Passion for Pigs. Skins winners were teams from the State Fair Commission, and Hebron Hills and Mt. Zion Homestead.
