Backhoe and Skid Steer in One Machine

The JCB 1CXT mini backhoe is a powerful and compact machine designed to handle both excavation and loading tasks with ease.

With a 49 engine horsepower, this machine combines the capabilities of a mini excavator and a skid steer loader, making it ideal for various agricultural and construction needs.

Farms.com met with Brandon Hawkings, senior business manager with JCB, for a first-hand look at this versatile machine.

Its extending backhoe allows a digging depth of just over 10 feet and a side reach of 12 feet. This makes it perfect for jobs such as cleaning ditches, repairing field tiles, or digging along pond edges—without needing to move the machine constantly.

On the front end, the 1CXT has a loader with a skid steer coupler, making it compatible with a wide range of skid steer attachments.

This includes tools like pallet forks, grapple buckets, and trenchers.

A high-flow hydraulic option further increases its efficiency, allowing users to run power-demanding attachments smoothly.

One of its most user-friendly features is the joystick control system built into the seat, enabling intuitive operation similar to traditional backhoes.

The machine also includes a slide feature for digging square holes and allows close access to buildings or barns—helpful when laying water lines or drainage.

With impressive reach and dig depth, the JCB 1CXT is a compact solution that doesn’t compromise on performance.

It helps users complete a variety of tasks quickly and efficiently.
