Saskatchewan Stock Growers Set Up Consumer's Beef Directory

The loss of packing capacity is creating uncertainty for producers with cattle to sell.
 
In the last few weeks the processing challenges have also resulted in a little less meat or selection at the grocery store for customers. 
 
Chad MacPherson is General Manager of the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association and says they've put together an online directory "Ranch Direct Beef Listing" to help link consumers with producers that sell frozen beef off-farm.
 
There's a growing interest from consumers in buying from producers direct to be able to guarantee themselves to supply."
 
Saskatchewan Stock Growers President Bill Huber says when consumers buy their beef from the farm gate, they’re getting great value while helping out their local farmers and ranchers.
