- Two modes of action deliver superior protection against anthracnose, white mould and Ascochyta blight in lentils
- Wide application window from first flower to row closure
- Consistently outyields competitors in trials with a visibly cleaner and greener canopy1,2
Syngenta Canada Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Elatus® Era lentil fungicide with two modes of action to deliver superior protection against key diseases in lentils.
“Anthracnose and white mould can significantly reduce yields and increase harvest time, resulting in lost returns for lentil growers,” says Sam Livesey, product lead for fungicides and insecticides with Syngenta Canada. “Elatus® Era, with its powerful combination of SOLATENOL® and prothioconazole, gives growers flexibility to crush both diseases, making it an easy choice.”
SOLATENOL® is the only Group 7 active ingredient with proven, long-lasting control of anthracnose (including Group 11 resistant biotypes), as well as Ascochyta, in lentils. It also includes Prothioconazole, a well-respected Group 3 known for its strong, reliable white mould protection.
Carolyn Wilson, technical lead for fungicides with Syngenta Canada, adds that with Elatus® Era, growers are getting the peace of mind in choosing a fungicide with a built-in resistance management strategy, thanks to the dual modes of action, helping mitigate future resistance challenges regardless of their field's Group 11 resistance status.
In grower field trials, Elatus® Era outyielded competitors’ trials by 3.7 bu/ac, and consistently demonstrated a clean and green canopy, free of visible disease compared to the competitor products.1
“The difference with Elatus® Era is visible in the field,” says Wilson. She points to both the large grower trials and small plot replicated trials conducted in 2025 where the difference in disease protection and plant health was evident between Elatus® Era and competitor products.
The cleaner, greener canopy that was observed in trials in 2025, can be attributed to SOLATENOL®. SOLATENOL® is proven to protect the plant canopy from disease, improving plant health by increasing chlorophyll for improved light and energy capture and reducing transpiration (water loss). Increased chlorophyll and light capture helps deliver a more productive crop. This improved energy capture from light gives the plant the most favourable conditions to function and develop.3,4
“By choosing Elatus® Era, you’re getting more than effective, long-lasting protection against key lentil diseases; you’re also elevating plant health to help drive profitability by increasing yield, improving quality and enabling harvest efficiency,” shares Wilson.
Elatus® Era is being sold as a co-pack containing Elatus® Era A and Elatus® Era B and treats 40 acres.
