USDA Crop Progress Report: Soybean Harvest Pushes Forward

The U.S. soybean harvest made a big jump over the last week, despite some cold, wet weather in key growing areas.

As of Sunday, 40% of soybeans are harvested, compared to 20% a week ago and the five year average of 53%. 91% are dropping leaves, matching the average, and 73% of the crop is rated good to excellent, unchanged on the week.

24% of corn is harvested, compared to 17% last week and 43% on average, while 87% is mature, compared to 89% on average. 74% of corn is in good to excellent condition, steady with a week ago.

68% of winter wheat is planted, compared to 67% on average, and 43% has emerged, compared to 37% on average.

50% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are in good to excellent shape, unchanged from last week.
