USDA Export sales Report

Wheat:   Net sales of 354,100 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up 21 percent from the previous week, but down 8 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Taiwan (78,300 MT), Dominican Republic (58,000 MT), Nigeria (32,500 MT), South Korea (32,200 MT), and Italy (31,600 MT).  Net sales of 18,000 MT for 2015/2016 were for Colombia.   Exports of 150,100 MT were down 61 percent from the previous week and 62 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (49,700 MT), South Korea (32,700 MT), Italy (31,500 MT), Venezuela (20,000 MT), and South Africa (10,400 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 56,600 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 895,100 MT for 2014/2015 were down 46 percent from the previous week and 20 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for Japan (266,100 MT, including 47,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 9,000 MT), unknown destinations (190,100 MT), Guatemala (122,700 MT), Mexico (119,200 MT), Peru (70,200 MT, including 40,000 MT switched from Colombia and decreases of 5,400 MT), and South Korea (60,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for Costa Rica (4,800 MT) and Canada (4,000 MT).  Exports of 667,800 MT were down 11 percent from the previous week and 9 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (180,800 MT), Peru (163,200 MT), Japan (161,800 MT), Colombia (100,100 MT), Costa Rica (26,200 MT), and Canada (13,500 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 68,000 MT, all South Korea.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to Japan were adjusted down 52,455 MT for week ending December 18th.  This shipment was reported twice.

Barley:  There were no net sales reported during the week.  Exports of 500 MT were down 16 percent from the previous week and 95 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destination was Taiwan.

Sorghum: Net sales of 181,700 MT for 2014/2015 were down 69 percent from the previous week and 50 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (111,000 MT), China (60,600 MT), and Japan (10,200 MT).  Exports of 71,100 MT were down 78 percent from the previous week and 65 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destination was China.

Rice:  Net sales of 9,200 MT for 2014/2015--a marketing-year low--were down 86 percent from the previous week and 90 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Guatemala (3,500 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (2,800 MT), El Salvador (2,000 MT, including 1,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), South Korea (1,400 MT), and Jordan (1,400 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (4,500 MT).  Exports of 91,500 MT were up 43 percent from the previous week and 32 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Iraq (60,600 MT), Japan (12,100 MT), Mexico (10,000 MT), Guatemala (3,500 MT), and El Salvador (2,000 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 611,000 MT for 2014/2015 were up 6 percent from the previous week, but down 25 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were primarily for China (344,200 MT, including 113,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 15,100 MT), South Korea (79,000 MT, including 58,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Spain (72,800 MT, including 65,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Bangladesh (55,000 MT), Pakistan (50,000 MT), and Indonesia (37,600 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (128,000 MT), Egypt (2,300 MT), Russia (2,000 MT), Costa Rica (1,200 MT), and Turkey (400 MT).  Exports of 1,065,900 MT were down 54 percent from the previous week and 51 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (655,400 MT), Spain (72,800 MT), South Korea (59,900 MT), Egypt (57,700 MT), Taiwan (30,000 MT), and Israel (30,000 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, optional origin sales totaling 60,000 MT were reported for China.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 885,000 MT, and are for China (823,000 MT), and Egypt (62,000 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 25,900 MT were reported to Canada.  The current exports for own account balance is 45,100 MT, all Canada.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to China were adjusted down 57,226 MT for week ending December 18th.  This shipment was reported twice. 

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 157,900 MT for 2014/2015 were down 24 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Guatemala (59,600 MT, including 6,700 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (25,000 MT), unknown destinations (23,900 MT), Honduras (10,400 MT), Canada (8,900 MT), and Colombia (6,100 MT, including 5,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 100 MT).  Decreases were reported for Jamaica (800 MT).  Net sales of 1,400 MT for 2015/2016 were for Mexico.  Exports of 186,300 MT were down 26 percent from the previous week and 30 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Vietnam (48,600 MT), the Philippines (43,100 MT), Cuba (22,500 MT), Mexico (20,300 MT), Colombia (16,000 MT), and Canada (10,600 MT). 

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 24,700 MT for 2014/2015 were up noticeably from the previous week and 20 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Morocco (15,000 MT), Mexico (4,700 MT), and Peru (2,100 MT).  Exports of 29,300 MT were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were the Dominican Republic (20,100 MT), Nicaragua (4,800 MT), Mexico (3,200 MT), and Costa Rica (1,000 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 89,400 RB for 2014/2015 were down 72 percent from the previous week and 54 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were primarily for Vietnam (36,200 RB, including 11,400 RB switched from China), China (30,100 RB), Guatemala (6,600 RB), Pakistan (6,000 RB), and Bangladesh (4,900 RB).  Decreases were reported for Turkey (10,500 RB) and El Salvador (1,100 RB).  For 2015/2016, net sales of 12,000 RB were reported for Turkey.  Exports of 169,600 RB were down 16 percent from the previous week, but unchanged from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (38,100 RB), Turkey (33,700 RB), Vietnam (23,600 RB), Indonesia (16,500 RB), and South Korea (9,000 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 10,100 RB for 2014/2015 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for China (9,200 RB), India (400 RB), Japan (200 RB), Italy (200 RB), and South Korea (100 RB).  Exports of 2,500 RB were down 66 percent from the previous week and 64 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were China (1,800 RB), Japan (400 RB), Germany (100 RB), and Thailand (100 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 16,200 RB, and are for Thailand (11,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB).

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 900 RB to China were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 52,700 RB, all China.

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 368,500 pieces were down 6 percent from the previous week, but up 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales totaled 365,500 pieces and were primarily for China (310,600 pieces), South Korea (25,900 pieces), Taiwan (12,400 pieces), Thailand (8,200 pieces), and Italy (4,900 pieces).  Decreases were reported for Hong Kong (1,300 pieces).  Exports of 326,500 pieces were down 21 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 324,900 pieces were primarily to China (244,500 pieces), South Korea (53,100 pieces), Taiwan (10,400 pieces), Thailand (4,200 pieces), and Italy (3,000 pieces).

Net sales of 99,800 wet blues for 2014 were down 3 percent from the previous week, but up 70 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for China (47,900 unsplit and 800 grain splits), Vietnam (31,300 unsplit), Mexico (10,700 grain splits and 100 unsplit), and Italy 5,700 unsplit and 100 grain splits).  Decreases were reported for India (2,600 grain splits).  Net sales of wet blues totaling 24,900 for 2015 resulted as increases for Vietnam (15,600 grain splits), China (13,200 grain splits), and India (2,600 grain splits), were partially offset by decreases for Italy (5,200 unsplit) and Taiwan (2,000 unsplit).  Exports of 117,100 wet blues were down 18 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (22,900 unsplit and 9,600 grain splits), Italy (17,200 unsplit and 9,400 grain splits), Vietnam (21,900 unsplit), and Mexico (16,700 grain splits and 1,100 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 157,400 pounds for 2014 were reported for South Korea.  Net sales reductions of splits totaling 61,800 pounds for 2015 resulted as increases for China (23,300 pounds) were more than offset by decreases for South Korea (85,100 pounds).  Exports of 568,100 pounds were reported to South Korea (468,100 pounds) and Taiwan (100,000 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 9,200 MT for 2014 were up 31 percent from the previous week and 4 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (4,100 MT), Mexico (1,600 MT), South Korea (1,300 MT), Canada (900 MT), and Hong Kong (900 MT).  Net sales of 3,300 MT for 2015 were reported for Hong Kong (2,100 MT), South Korea (300 MT), and Canada (200 MT).  Exports of 8,700 MT were down 31 percent from the previous week and 33 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Hong Kong (1,900 MT), Japan (1,900 MT), Mexico (1,500 MT), South Korea (1,400 MT), and Canada (900 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 13,400 MT for 2014 were down 13 percent from the previous week, but up 46 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (10,100 MT), South Korea (1,400 MT), Canada (800 MT), Hong Kong (300 MT), and Australia (300 MT).  Net sales of 36,100 MT for 2015 were reported for the Philippines (24,700 MT), South Korea (3,700 MT), China (2,700 MT), Mexico (2,200 MT), and Japan (1,700 MT).  Exports of 13,600 MT were down 35 percent from the previous week and 30 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (5,100 MT), Japan (3,100 MT), South Korea (2,400 MT), Canada (900 MT), and Australia (500 MT).
