Global agriculture leaders gather to empower women in farming

The Women in Agribusiness Summit will bring together professionals from across the agriculture sector for a three-day event focused on leadership, innovation and networking in New Orleans, September 22-24, 2026, in New Orleans, Louisianna.

The event aims to strengthen connections among women working in farming, ranching and agribusiness while encouraging collaboration across the industry.

The program features expert panel discussions covering key agricultural topics such as market trends, sustainability, risk management, and workforce development. Attendees will also have access to leadership workshops designed to help professionals build new skills and prepare for future opportunities.

“It created both an internal community and an external foundation,” said Michele Fite, Chief Commercial Officer at ELO Life Systems and WIA Advisory Board member. “It resonated then and still does. Because it’s not about checking a box. It’s about building real relationships, confidence, and momentum for women in an industry that needs all three.”

A major focus of this year's summit is supporting female farmers and ranchers. Several sessions will highlight the important role women play in modern agriculture and the challenges they face in balancing farm operations, family responsibilities, community involvement and business growth.

Industry leaders from different countries will share perspectives on advancing opportunities for women in agriculture. Discussions will explore ways to encourage greater participation, improve support networks and create stronger pathways for future generations of women in farming.

The event will also feature farm focused panel discussions where female producers share their experiences raising livestock and growing crops. These conversations are expected to provide practical insights and inspiration for attendees from all areas of agriculture.

Networking remains a key part of the summit experience. Special events, receptions, and off-site activities will allow participants to build meaningful professional relationships and exchange ideas with peers from around the world.

The summit will also recognize outstanding achievements through awards honoring women who have made significant contributions to the agriculture industry. Special recognition will be given to female farmers who demonstrate excellence and leadership within their communities.

Through education, collaboration and recognition, the Women in Agribusiness Summit continues to support the growth of women in agriculture while helping strengthen the future of the farming industry.
