World Pork Expo 2026 seminars bring producers practical insight

World Pork Expo 2026, presented by the National Pork Producers Council, returns to the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines on June 3-4 with a strong lineup of seminars, discussions and industry learning opportunities. Alongside the world’s largest pork-specific trade show, this year’s educational programming gives attendees the chance to hear timely perspectives, dig into the issues shaping the industry and return home with ideas they can put to work in their operations and businesses.

“The seminar schedule adds another layer of value to the event by creating space for thoughtful conversations around the challenges and opportunities producers are navigating right now,” said NPPC President Rob Brenneman, a pork producer from Washington County, Iowa.

This year’s seminar schedule delivers a wide-ranging mix of conversations focused on the issues, pressures and opportunities shaping pork production. From animal health and market conditions to communications, consumer outreach, and long-term industry strategy, these sessions are built to deliver practical insight attendees can use.

Business Seminars will be held on Wednesday and Thursday in the Varied Industries Building and are included with expo admission.

Wednesday, June 3

  • 1:30 p.m.–2:30 p.m., Meeting Room B- Pork: Looking Beyond Pork Chops. See What Innovation Can Do To Excite Consumers.
  • Loyal consumers know that pork is versatile and delicious — but how can pork adapt to the palates and expectations of our modern consumers? Can pork take advantage of the skyrocketing popularity of protein and capture a larger share of the plate? Join Mark Hulsebus and Lori Stevermer from Alltech’s U.S. Pork team as they work with David Newman, CEO of the National Pork Board and Staff, to fabricate a pork carcass featuring new cuts of pork that offer innovative opportunities around versatility, nutrition and value.
