Youth Encouraged to Explore Career Opportunities in Pork Production

The Saskatchewan Pork Development Board is inspiring youth to look beyond the barn and discover the wide range of career opportunities available in the pork industry.

Through its “Whole Hog” video series, launched in partnership with Aspen Films, Sask Pork’s 12-year-old Whole Hog Youth Ambassador Reise Podhordeski interviews professionals across the pork value chain—from research and soil science to food processing and preparation.

The second series, aimed at students in grades 7 to 10, builds on the success of the first set released in 2023. Each three-to-five-minute episode highlights different roles in the pork sector, helping young people connect the dots between food production, careers, and the people behind the industry.

The videos are available on YouTube and through Sask Pork’s social media channels. For more information, visit saskpork.com
