CCGA Accepting Cash Advance Applications for 2011

CCGA Accepting Cash Advance Applications for 2011

The Canadian Canola Growers Association (CCGA) is accepting applications for the 2011 cash advance program. The application forms and online system available were made available earlier in the spring this year.

June 20, 2011, is the last date for application of intended seeded pre-harvest advance. July 31, 2011, is the last date to transfer intended seeded pre-harvest advance to actual seeded pre-harvest advance. This transfer requires a confirmed seeded acreage report from an applicable crop insurance agency.

Through this advance payments program, farmers are eligible for up to $100,000 interest-free, and an additional $300,000 at very competitive interest rates. Producers can apply for a cash advance on a wide range of commodities, depending on the province where they farm. Cash advance information set out in charts for Western Canada, Alberta and Saskatchewan Only and Non-Board Designated Areas is readily available on the CCGA website at www.ccga.ca/CashAdvance_Index.aspx

Many farmers like the flexibility that a spring cash advance offers, and it is particularly useful in financing the heavy cash flow demands that farms experience through the spring. Farmers can apply using the convenient on-line system at www.ccga.ca or they can call toll-free 1-866-745-2256 to complete a telephone application.
