Federal Trans Fats Measures Push Oilseed Innovation

In 2015, the FDA declared that partially hydrogenated oils were no longer “generally recognized as safe” due to increased risk of heart disease. Food manufacturers were ordered to phase out the use of artificial trans fats by June of 2018.
