AGCO has announced the appointment of Brian Sorbe as President of PTx, effective August 25, 2025. Sorbe brings nearly 30 years of expertise in precision agriculture, global sales, and product development to this role.
As President of PTx, Sorbe will guide AGCO’s smart farming technology portfolio, focusing on delivering retrofit solutions compatible with various equipment brands. The company has set an ambitious goal of achieving $2 billion in precision agriculture sales by 2029, with Sorbe playing a key role in this growth.
Eric Hansotia, Chairman, President, and CEO of AGCO, praised Sorbe’s leadership and agricultural passion, noting his ability to inspire teams, expand channel development, and manage complex technology platforms. Hansotia highlighted that Sorbe’s leadership will drive innovation and farmer education across PTx.
Before joining AGCO, Sorbe spent 14 years at Topcon Positioning Systems in senior leadership positions, including Senior Vice President and General Manager. His work involved mixed fleet technology development, product strategy, marketing, and M&A integration, always keeping farmers’ needs at the forefront.
Raised on a farm in Iowa, Sorbe began his career in precision agriculture with Ag-Chem Equipment in Minnesota, now part of AGCO. His career has also included roles in construction and industrial automation, though agriculture has remained central.
Sorbe will be based in Tremont, Illinois, an important site for PTx operations. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Purdue University and has completed postgraduate certifications in AI & Machine Learning, Agricultural Autonomy & Robotics, along with an MBA program.
AGCO’s forward-looking plans, supported by Sorbe’s leadership, aim to strengthen its position as a trusted provider of smart farming solutions worldwide.
