It’s the hardest job on the planet, he said in a past interview
With the world mourning the loss of heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne, that got the team at Farms.com thinking:
Is there any connection whatsoever between the Prince of Darkness and agriculture?
It turns out there’s a few.
In 1993, the Osbournes purchased Welders House, which included a 100-acre estate and 35-acre farm.
Over time, the family purchased more land, bringing the total to about 350 acres and letting a local farmer use some acres to raise livestock.
In a past interview, when proposed with the idea that he’s kind of a farmer, the Black Sabbath frontman acknowledged the work farmers do.
“No, I’m not an (expletive) farmer,” Osbourne said last year. “Do you know a farmer is the hardest job on the planet? It’s 365 days a year. They get up at the crack of (expletive) dawn.”
Osbourne also professed a love for a specific fruit.
He was known to prefer pink lady apples.
“My favourite apple is pink lady,” he said on an episode of “The Osbournes” family podcast. “I can’t stop eating pink lady.”
On that same episode, his daughter Kelly claimed her dad could eat upwards of 30 apples each day.
And thanks to AI, Farms.com created an image of Ozzy Osbourne riding a black tractor adorned with bat wings.

At least one farmer is encouraging others to listen to Ozzy this season.
On the ag forum Agriville, one user called for fans to crank up Osbourne’s music while in the equipment this year.
Osbourne died on July 22 at the age of 76, only 17 days after his final live performance with the original Black Sabbath lineup.
