Dr. Rob Gulden from the University of Manitoba is leading a research project that is measuring harvest losses in canola on farmer's fields across the prairies.
Preliminary results from the study are very similar to a study completed 10 years ago.
Losses of 5-6% are common. With today's higher yields that can mean anywhere from 2-5 bushels per acre.
Rob discusses the preliminary results and the interaction with factors including variety, agronomic practices, and combine type.
