Ag Sector May Qualify For Essential Pay Top-Up

The agriculture sector may be eligible to receive part of the three billion dollars recently announced by the federal government to top-up wages for low-income essential workers.
 
It's up to the provinces and territories to determine whether agriculture qualifies as an essential service.
 
Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau says the government is waiting to see plans from the provinces, which are also expected to contribute dollars to the fund.

Sclerotinia is undoubtedly a disease of major economic importance, and very damaging in the event of a heavy attack.

All these attacks come from the primary inoculum stored in the soil: sclerotia. These forms of resistance can survive in the soil for over 10 years, maintaining constant contamination of susceptible host crops, causing symptoms on the crop and replenishing the soil inoculum with new sclerotia.
