Another Group of Temporary Foreign Workers Have COVID-19

Several temporary foreign workers remain in isolation after they tested positive for COVID 19 this month.

 

They all work at the Krazy Cherry fruit company in Oliver BC, about a half hour drive south of Penticton. Four people connected to the farm tested positive for the virus and last week, the province's health department declared an outbreak issuing an order that stopped dozens of migrant workers and nine additional staff on the farm from leaving the premises. Work on the farm is still ongoing and health officials say there's no reason to believe the fruit is unsafe to consume.  Some of the workers at the fruit company blame the living quarters for the spread of the virus. Similar issues were made by migrant workers in Ontario who contracted the virus this month on huge produce farms in at least two regions of that province.
