Canada Pavillion at World’s Largest Fresh Produce Trade Show (Fruit Logistica, February 2020)

Fruit Logistica is the world largest fresh produce trade show, attracting over 78,000 visitors from over 130 countries around the world. The 2020 show marks the fourth consecutive year for the official Canada Pavilion, which has grown to include provincial ministries of agriculture, associations, and private companies representing diverse products and services from across the fresh produce sector. The Canada Pavilion is organized by B-FOR International together with the Canadian Embassy in Berlin and provides a number of hassle-free participation options and logistical support from start to finish. More information on the Canada Pavilion can be found HERE.

We are looking to grow Canada’s country presence at Fruit Logistica by inviting all companies from Canada (and of course their respective provinces, associations) to take part. Canada is the world’s second largest country by land mass and produces over 200 crops in fruits and vegetables. From greenhouse to the traditional methods Canada is a key player. This also includes all aspects in the fruit and vegetable supply chain – from packaging to logistics to machinery and agri-tech (generally anything horticulture and its ecosystem). In fact, at the recent Fruit Logistica show during the FL Innovation Awards, a packaging company from Nova Scotia/BC headquartered company, CKF Inc, won bronze!

Participation at Fruit Logistica is a valuable opportunity for your organization and its members to broaden their exposure and make new connections in the global fresh produce market. The following are three ways to take part:

1.       PROMOTE THIS TO YOUR COMPANIES IN EXCHANGE FOR FREE BRANDING

Share information regarding the show and the Canada Pavilion (included below) with your companies. In exchange for your help promoting, any company from your province or association that takes part we are happy in their actual physical presence at the show to acknowledge you via a branding of your organization/province/association. This can be a free cost-effective way to show your support in exporting and not being there. And of course any success we are aware of that your members/companies have at the show we will be sure to share with you for your promotional and export funding purposes.

2.       TAKE PART IN THE SHOW YOURSELVES AS A PROVINCE/ASSOCIATION WITH YOUR OWN SPACE

The first three years provinces like PEI Potatoes did this, where they bought space and represented their members and allowed for them to use the space. If you have a budget and are interested to physically be at Berlin we are happy to send more information on how to participate.

3.       BUYING X AMOUNT OF SPACE AND RESELLING/GIVING TO YOUR COMPANIES/MEMBERS

Like in other trade shows with a Canada Pavilion there are provinces/associations who might want to buy X amount of space and then resell to their companies. For instance, the province of BC has done this at Fruit Logistica in Berlin for the past 3 years. We are very open and willing to accommodate this model again in 2020 for new provinces.
