CLAAS of America Receives Six AE50 New Product Awards

CLAAS of America Inc. recently received six 2020 AE50 New Product Awards from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). The annual AE50 Awards program celebrates products that feature the highest in innovation, significant engineering advancement and impact on the market served.

The six award winners: the LEXION 8000-7000 Series combine harvester, JAGUAR 900 Series forage harvester, JAGUAR TERRA TRAC drive system, AXION 900 Series tractor, ORBIS 750 header and new CLAAS corn head were all commercially introduced this year. “It is an extreme honor to be recognized by ASABE and the industry for six new CLAAS products,” said Eric Raby, CLAAS of America President and General Manager – Sales. “It has always been our goal to ensure an efficient and reliable harvest to our customers with our long line of premium equipment.”

ASABE is an international scientific and educational organization dedicated to the advancement of engineering applicable to agricultural, food and biological systems. Entries for the AE50 awards are submitted from around the world and are then reviewed by a panel of international engineering experts to determine the top 50 products that represent the diversity of agricultural and biological engineering. Recipients of the awards have been honored for their ingenuity in product development — saving producers time, cost and labor while improving user safety.

LEXION 8000-7000 Series Combine Harvester
The powerful LEXION 8000-7000 Series combine harvester features the highest capacity in the industry, designed with a host of features to streamline harvest and save time and money. It features exceptional capacity to harvest all types of crops in all types of conditions, covering more acres per hour and achieving even better grain quality. With the APS SYNFLOW HYBRID system, the new LEXION delivers 10% more capacity than the previous series. The combine has unloading speeds as fast as 5.1 bushels per second and the industry's largest grain tank that features a 510-bushel capacity.

JAGUAR 900 Series Forage Harvester
The JAGUAR 900 Series forage harvesters deliver industry-leading throughput to harvest more tons per hour. CEMOS AUTO PERFORMANCE automatically adjusts horsepower and speed for improved engine efficiency and maximum harvesting capacity. Improvements to engine design and power transfer result in a 10% fuel savings compared to competitive models. The JAGUAR sets the standard for reliability, and improvements to the design of the new series raise the bar on machine longevity.

JAGUAR TERRA TRAC
The JAGUAR 990 and 960 models offer TERRA TRAC drive systems that provide up to 25 mph (40 km/h) road speeds, a much smoother ride, reduced soil compaction, and added stability and traction on slopes and all soil conditions. CLAAS developed the TERRA TRAC drive concept with patented geometry for effective soil protection. The JAGUAR TERRA TRAC is the first forage harvester with a standard function to protect the soil and grassland against driving damage. For the first time, it is possible to make use of the advantages of the track system on all surfaces throughout the entire year.

AXION 900 Series Tractor
The AXION 900 Series tractor breaks the 400 engine horsepower mark with no derate or boost logic, providing pure power for all applications. The tractor ranges from 320 to 440 rated engine horsepower, with 445 maximum engine horsepower. The 8.7 L engine, coupled with a four-mode CVT transmission and efficient PTO and final drives, provides up to 91% of engine horsepower available at the PTO shaft for more efficient use of power and fuel. Its straight-through PTO drive system provides the most efficient use of power for applications such as hay cutting, baling, forage chopping, feeding, manure spreading and other PTO-intensive uses.

ORBIS 750 Header
The ORBIS 750 features a frame stamped from a flat piece of metal, with no welded joints, for the strongest possible header. The knives, crop flow guides and the Christmas trees on the new ORBIS 750 are all PREMIUM LINE, making the header more durable and providing more consistent cutting and feeding. The new knives and shorter, stronger points on the header prevent double cuts in the field. The new AUTO CONTOUR system allows for even closer cutting to the ground for those who want very short stubble.

CLAAS Corn Head
The new CLAAS corn head meets the demands for productivity and efficiency for not only harvesting more robust modern genetics with greater yield potential, but also having the flexibility to quickly and effectively adapt to challenging field conditions from the cab. New gear-driven left- and right-hand main row unit gearboxes eliminate the need to periodically maintain drive chains, while new non-greaseable knife rolls eliminate the need for frequent maintenance and ensure consistent season long performance.

The ASABE award program is designed to emphasize the role of new products and systems in bringing advanced technology to the marketplace. These engineering developments help farmers, food processors and equipment manufacturers cut costs, enhance quality and increase profits. For more information, visit www.asabe.org/AE50.
