Golden Acre Farms crowned champions of the first Southwestern Ontario Regional Greenhouse Soccer Championship

The Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers (OGVG), in partnership with the Migrant Worker Community Program (MWCP) and North Lambton Community Health Centre (NLCHC), proudly hosted the inaugural Southwestern Ontario Regional Greenhouse Soccer Championship July 25/26 in Chatham.

The championship featured Golden Acre Farms and Roelands Plant Farms, who earned their spots after winning their respective local greenhouse soccer tournaments in fall 2025. In an exciting final, Golden Acre Farms defeated Roelands Plant Farms 4-1 to claim the first regional championship title.

"This championship is about more than soccer," said Richard Lee, executive director of OGVG. "It's an opportunity to celebrate the hardworking people who contribute to the success of Ontario's greenhouse sector every day. The teamwork, sportsmanship, and community spirit displayed throughout the tournament reflect the values that make our sector strong."

The event brought greenhouse workers together from across Southwestern Ontario to build connections, celebrate diversity, and showcase the teamwork that drives the province's greenhouse vegetable sector.

OGVG congratulates Golden Acre Farms on its historic victory and thanks all participants, volunteers, and partners for helping make the inaugural regional championship a success.
