Join the Ontario Farmland Trust for a morning of exploration at the Bourgeois Farm as we document the incredible diversity of life that calls the farm home.
Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or simply curious about the plants and wildlife around you, everyone is welcome to participate in this community science event. Guided by OFT staff, participants will explore different areas of the farm, observing and recording as many species as possible to help build an updated biodiversity inventory for the property.
We’ll capture everything from birds and wildflowers to fungi, insects, amphibians, and mammals; every observation contributes to a better understanding of the important role farmland plays in supporting biodiversity.
No prior experience is required. Participants are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear, and bring water, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a smartphone with the iNaturalist app if they have one (optional).
