Saskatchewan Pulse Growers acclaim three to Board of Directors

Saskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG) adds two new Directors and retains an existing Director for another term after declaring acclamations to their Board following the close of SPG’s nomination period on September 14. Three nominations were received for three available positions on the board.

Current SPG Chair Brad Blackwell of Dinsmore will continue on for a second term with the Board of Directors and John Bumbac of Assiniboia and Jason Hennes of Eatonia will join the Board effective January 2020.

“The SPG Board looks forward to welcoming John and Jason to SPG early next year,” says SPG Vice-Chair, Jackie Carleton. “Having fresh perspectives and new ideas is one of the many valuable things that new board members bring to SPG.”

Carleton also notes the value of having continuity as Board members continue on for additional terms. “Having Brad continue on with the organization for an second term, especially after having already served in a leadership position on the board, ensures that the organization will have continuity on the Board of Directors as SPG looks to make decisions on important topics in the next year including breeding, research, and market development.

The new Director terms for Brad, John, and Jason will begin following SPG’s 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM). The AGM will be at 5:00 PM on Monday, January 13, at TCU Place during CropSphere 2020. Growers do not need to be registered for CropSphere to attend SPG’s AGM.
