Science and Excellence in Swine Production – IPVS Cancun 2014

It is with great pleasure that the organizing committee of the 23rd International Pig Veterinary Society Congress 2014 (IPVS 2014) invites you to participate in our meeting that will be held from June 8-11, 2014 in Cancun, Mexico.

Cancun is a tropical paradise that encompasses top class hotels and resorts, golf courses and many cultural attractions, as well as an international airport with direct flights from Europe, North and South America at very accessible rates. We have selected both a state of art congress venue that offers all the necessary infrastructure for a meeting of this relevance, as well as a very experienced team of experts to support us in the organization of IPVS 2014 so we accomplish our most important objective: a successful scientific event in a very relaxing and friendly environment.

In order to maintain the high scientific standard of IPVS the organizing committee has already started to integrate a premium panel of international and national swine experts into its scientific committee. Thus, allowing participants to acquire new and relevant information related to swine health, reproduction, nutrition, management, environment, welfare and other fields of interest.

Finally, our social program is organized to strengthen networking among our fellow colleagues in an atmosphere of traditional and cultural activities. This wonderful setting is surrounded by mangroves, reefs, tropical rainforest, cenotes, white sand beaches and colossal pyramids such a Chichen Itza, one of the Modern Seven Wonders of the World. Consequently, for all the members of the organizing committee, and the entire Mexican contingency, it will be a great honor and a pleasure to share with you our traditional hospitality in this breathtaking location, the Mexican Caribbean and the Mayan Kingdom.

Video: You Be The Judge: Evaluating 8 Breeding Rams!

It's time for some honest feedback here at Ewetopia Farms! Today, we’re showing you all eight rams we used for breeding this year. Instead of just presenting them, we thought it would be fun to create a “Ram Report Card” — where we point out both their strengths and areas for improvement.

But here’s the twist: you be the judge! In the comments, let us know what you like about each ram and what you think could be improved. No ram is ever perfect, but every one of them brings something valuable to the flock. By sharing perspectives, we all learn more about what to look for in good breeding stock.

At Ewetopia Farms, we raise registered Suffolk and Polled Dorset sheep, focusing on high-quality genetics, structure, and friendly temperaments. Evaluating breeding rams is part of the bigger picture of building stronger flocks — and we’re excited to share the process with you.
