As of Jan. 12, 2024, this elevator is sold.

Alberta farmers looking for additional grain storage can purchase a grain elevator.

An online ad shows a grain elevator in Trochu, Alta., for sale.

The elevator contains 56 internal hopper bottom bins and 170,000 bushels (4,750 T) of storage.

“Excellent for mixing and blending,” the ad says.

The lot is 472 ft. by 95 ft. and an additional vacant lot is also available.

The elevator for sale is an ex-Alberta Wheat Pool elevator and was built in 1973, Grain Elevators of Canada says.

The elevator has unique construction features.

“This type, with the double attached annexes, is known as a Double Composite Wood Elevator,” according to Waymarking.com, a site used to catalog and mark interesting locations.

Anyone seriously interested in the elevator is asked to email harvsfarm@gmail.com or to call 403-412-4453.

A Google search of the phone number indicates it is the number Albertans can call to contact the Three Hills Auxiliary for tax receipts and fundraising information.

Farms.com has sent an email to the provided address more information about the grain elevator and its sale.

If not in the market for a grain elevator but are interested in equipment, antiques or other items, check out the Farms.com Classifieds pages.
