Richard International Limited announced its plans to build three new crop input centres in Saskatchewan beginning this fall, with other builds being planned for across Western Canada.

Two of the locations, Pasqua and Elrose, SK will be completely new builds. The third location near Wakaw will replace the current facility already situated there.

The facilities will each have high-speed fertilizer blending capabilities and a 6,000-square-foot, AWSA-certified warehouse.

“We look forward to being part of the communities of Pasqua and Elrose and improving our business in Wakaw, providing local producers with access to state-of-the-art crop inputs facilities and full agronomic services through our Crop Watch agronomy team,” Tom Hamilton, vice-president, Agribusiness Operations, said in a release.

Hamilton said building facilities in Saskatchewan allows the company to access more producers.

“We are continuing to aggressively invest in our crop inputs business to grow our Richardson Pioneer network and expand our reach to offer our services to more customers across Western Canada,” he said. “We are excited to invest in these three locations in Saskatchewan now and plan to announce additional new builds in the coming months.”

Constructio on all three facilities is expected to begin this fall and the facilities are scheduled to open sometime in 2017.
