World’s largest pork industry trade show highlights innovation, education and global collaboration.

The global pork industry is once again turning its attention to Iowa as the 2026 World Pork Expo takes place June 3–4 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. Recognized as the largest pork-specific trade show in the world, the annual event continues to serve as a cornerstone gathering for producers, agribusinesses and industry experts.

Hosted by the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC), the expo brings together thousands of participants from across North America and around the world for two days focused on education, innovation and networking.

Each year, the World Pork Expo transforms Des Moines into a hub of agricultural innovation, drawing pork producers and industry professionals.

The event’s location in Iowa is strategic. As the leading pork-producing state in the United States, Iowa provides a central and relevant meeting point for discussions that shape the future of the industry.

The expo is widely regarded as more than a trade show. It is a platform where ideas are exchanged, partnerships are formed, and critical industry challenges are addressed, from animal health to market dynamics.

The 2026 edition is expected to feature nearly 400 companies and approximately 700 booths spread across more than 300,000 square feet of exhibit space.

Exhibitors will showcase the latest technologies and solutions:

  • Swine health and biosecurity
  • Feeding systems and nutrition
  • Barn design and ventilation
  • Genetics and herd management
  • Swine Software Updates
  • Precision agriculture and data tools

This extensive trade show floor allows producers to compare products, evaluate new technologies and identify practical solutions to improve productivity, efficiency and sustainability on their operations.

Education
Beyond the exhibits, education remains a central pillar of the World Pork Expo. Attendees can participate in seminars, business sessions and the popular Pork Academy, where industry experts present on key topics influencing pork production.

Sessions at the 2026 event include:

  • Global trade and tariff impacts
  • Swine health and disease prevention strategies
  • Consumer demand trends
  • Farm profitability and economic outlooks

Networking
Networking is another defining feature of the expo. With dozens of hospitality tents and structured events, participants can connect with peers, suppliers and industry leaders.

Programs such as the Young Pork Advocates Issues Meet also highlight the importance of developing future leaders within the industry, offering young participants the opportunity to engage in policy discussions and compete for scholarships.

As the pork industry navigates evolving market conditions, regulatory pressures and sustainability expectations, the importance of events like the World Pork Expo continues to grow.

For many attendees, the value lies not only in the technology on display but also in the conversations that shape decisions for the year ahead, reinforcing the expo’s role as a must-attend event on the global agricultural calendar.
