2014 Kansas 4-H Livestock Sweepstakes Planned Aug. 23-24

The 2014 Kansas 4-H Livestock Sweepstakes is set to be held on Aug. 23-24 in Manhattan on the Kansas State University campus. All Kansas 4-H members are invited to participate in the two-day livestock learning and competition experience.

4-H'ers can test their knowledge in Livestock Judging, Meats Judging, Livestock Skillathon, and Livestock Quiz Bowl. Prizes will be awarded in each contest, with the addition of overall Sweepstakes, where belt buckles will be presented to the team placing the highest in all four contests.

For questions or if interested in participating, 4-H members should contact their local K-State Research and Extension office to register as an individual or as a team.

Postmark deadline for entry: Aug. 1, 2014

  • Extension agents must enter by this deadline even if their county fair qualifying contest is after Aug. 1, 2014.
  • Registration is online with registration fees sent via mail to 4-H Foundation at 201 Umberger Hall on KSU campus.
  • Late registrations, including late post mark dates will be accepted at an additional $10 per individual added, with a cutoff date of Aug. 15, 2014.
