26-06 - Improve Banking Practices for Canadian Agriculture

Challenges with the banking system reflect a broader challenge affecting the entire agricultural sector. Given the wide-ranging impact of banking regulations, we believe the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA), who have a broader mandate to support all of Ontario agriculture, is better positioned to address the issue. We have forwarded this resolution to OFA for their consideration and asked that they take action to respond to the issue, and to report back on progress made. We have made it known that BFO will support OFA through advocacy efforts on this issue. A copy of the letter sent to OFA is included in the PDF version of this response.

BFO will be sure to keep the local associations apprised of any developments and progress regarding this issue.
