The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Travis County is offering Forward Farming program sessions in July for small-scale agricultural producers wanting practical information and instruction on for-profit farming, said program coordinators.

“The Forward Farming program is helpful for both home and small-plot producers, including producers who grow for farmers markets or are involved in sustainable foods efforts or community gardens,” said Daphne Richards, AgriLife Extension agent for horticulture in Travis County. “AgriLife Extension specialists join community experts and local growers to teach and advise participants.”
Both sessions will be held at the AgriLife Extension office, 1600-B Smith Road in southeast Austin.
The sessions will be:
- July 16: Business Planning and Management. Will address business planning, best management practices, risk and performance-based borrowing, and production value-added assessments.
