Best To Wait Before Seeding Soybeans

A production specialist with Manitoba Pulse and Soybean Growers says producers need to be patient when thinking about seeding soybeans.

Kristen Podolsky notes the best plan would be to focus on cereals, and leave the soybeans until mid-May.

"That has been a question with the warm start that we saw there last week, and growers are getting anxious but its best to wait with soybeans for sure until around May 10th when the soil temperature is consistently warm. We need to wait until the soil temperature reaches at least 10 degrees Celsius and is expected to stay there."
