Calling all Canadian agtech and foodtech founders

Agtech Accelerator Cohort 1 applications now open

WHAT: We’re on the search for our Agtech Accelerator’s first cohort! The Agtech Accelerator provides Canada’s top agtech and foodtech companies with the access to capital, programming, and mentorship needed to help them scale.

WHO: The Agtech Accelerator is open to Canadian agtech and foodtech companies focusing on, but not limited to: big data and predictive analytics; supply chain, traceability, and sustainability; precision agriculture; robotics and automation; farm Management software, sensing, and Internet of Things; and animal health.

Each cohort will consist of approximately 10 Canadian companies.

WHEN: Cohort 1 will run from March to June 2022. Applications for Cohort 1 will be open from Nov. 8-26.

WHY: As with many industries, technology is driving the world’s agriculture industry forward. Our future relies on collaboration, innovation and the ability to leverage our strengths. Being home to more than 40% of Canada’s cultivated farmland, a vibrant startup culture, and a strong ecosystem of world-leading agriculture and food companies, it only makes sense that Saskatchewan leads the growth of agtech in Canada and beyond.

MORE DETAILS: The Agtech Accelerator was launched in 2021, via a partnership between Cultivator powered by Conexus, Economic Development Regina and Emmertech. It is a venture-capital backed accelerator and Canadian companies selected to participate in the yearly cohort will have the opportunity to receive an equity investment at intake - a first for an accelerator in Saskatchewan and Canada.
