Case IH Introduces AFS Connect Optum Series Tractors

RACINE, Wisconsin - Case IH is adding the AFS Connect™ Optum® series tractor to its lineup of all-purpose farming equipment. The AFS Connect Optum series tractor is engineered to deliver the muscle and horsepower needed for extensive roading and haulage — plus enhanced comfort for high-volume hay and forage operation — in one all-purpose tractor.

With innovative Advanced Farming Systems (AFS) technology seamlessly integrated into the cab, AFS Connect Optum series tractors allow farmers to quickly share and access data — making sure they are optimizing every part of their operation. Producers may select from two models: AFS Connect Optum 270 and 300.

The new AFS Connect™ Optum® series tractor offers advanced technology with superior comfort.

“The AFS Connect Optum tractors were designed to seamlessly integrate technology to make farmers’ jobs as efficient and precise as possible,” said J.E. Cadle, Case IH mid-range tractor marketing manager. “These tractors can deliver the muscle and horsepower that are needed on the road or in the field, along with advancements meant to make the operator’s day spent in the cab more comfortable.”

Innovative technology to advance your operation

To meet the demands of both row crop and high-volume hay producers, innovative AFS technology provides a state-of-the-art solution that helps efficiently complete the most precise farming tasks. With a highly sophisticated steering system, telematics, monitors, sensors and farm management software applications, the full vehicle interface and intuitive AFS Pro 1200 display is capable of wireless file transfers, guidance lines, prescription maps, fleet management, data sharing and product control.

AFS Connect links farmers with all aspects of their farm to help quickly analyze all agronomic data by importing several file formats, both via USB stick and AFS Connect File Transfer. All users can also create rules to receive current vehicle status notifications for easy maintenance updates and control who the data is shared with for increased optimization in your operation.

Enhanced cab features for a more comfortable operator experience

To provide an exceptional operator experience all day long, every AFS Connect Optum model features a suspended front axle and cab suspension along with a semi-active seat for a stable, comfortable ride. In addition, the new models offer more cab space and storage compartments, along with an optional cool box to keep food and beverages chilled through long days in the cab.

Eleven percent more glass, along with a bigger windshield and wider doors, plus a redesigned  A-pillar display, provide excellent visibility. Even with the increase in glass area, an improved A/C system helps the cab cool down 35% faster.

The standard CVXDrive™ continuously variable transmission provides intuitive operation and smooth, seamless power transfer — helping operators reach top road speeds at lower engine rpm to increase fuel efficiency on the road and in the field. Proven 6.7-L engines are built to produce power to match the toughest field conditions, while ensuring a compact vehicle design with excellent maneuverability.

“When our team was designing and engineering the AFS Connect Optum series tractors, we were sure to incorporate customer feedback and keep the features that made a difference on their operation, and expand on that with next-generation technology,” Cadle said. “When you step into the cab, you can tell that this tractor will keep you comfortable all day with important features that will help drive efficiency and productivity.”
