Denton County Agricultural Land Evaluation Class Set For July 8

By Brandon Boughen

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Denton County and the Denton County AgriLife Extension agriculture committee will hold an agricultural land evaluation class from 6 to 9 p.m. July 8 at the Joseph A. Carroll Building, 401 W. Hickory, Suite 115, Denton.

Brandon Boughen, AgriLife Extension agent for Denton County, noted the class is being held in conjunction with the Denton Central Appraisal District.

Kyle Wilhite, residential appraiser for the district, will discuss how to qualify for and maintain a 1-D-1 agricultural land evaluation in Denton County, Boughen said.

Registration will be $15, payable by check or cash at the door. An RSVP is required by July 7 by contacting Boughen or Pamela Hill at 940-349-2894.

The purpose of the class is to give landowners, especially new owners of rural property, the opportunity to learn about the evaluation process and ask specific questions to someone directly involved in the appraisal process, Boughen said.
