Arnold Innovations Of Hamiota Wins Ag Days Inventor's Showcase

Arnold Innovations of Hamiota came out on top at this year's Manitoba Ag Days Inventor's Showcase.

The company won for its New Holland Lexion Combine Cylinder Reverser. The product allows for the combines cylinder to be reversed using hydraulics and a custom engineered wrench, which when not in use conveniently stores in its own harness attached to the combine.

Doug Arnold explains how the family-owned business came up with the idea.

“The original idea stemmed from about four years ago when my dad pinched a nerve behind his collarbone uplugging his CX Series combine...we spent three years in research and development on our farm testing and prototyping different designs. We came up with a design that works really well for us and then we brought it to market.”

Arnold says they have sold 55 of the CX Series reversers, while the first sale of the new Lexion model was made during this year's show.

He notes they are currently working on a cylinder reverser for the New Holland CR Twin Rotary Series, and hopes to display that product at next year's show.

Second prize went to Gerry Devloo for his canola crusher.
