Flood Losses Expected To Surpass One Million Dollars In RM Of Arborfield

Losses are estimated at over one million dollars from rural flooding in the northeast part of Saskatchewan near Arborfield.

Deputy reeve of the RM of Arborfield, Al Bronner, says the region received up to 8 inches of rain this week, flooding many farmers fields and severely damaging a major roadway.

As well, he says the RM had to cut through half a dozen roads and puts total losses in the area of 1.5 to 2 million dollars.

He estimates a couple thousand acres of cropland are under water.

The Crop insurance corporation says crops can recover, depending on run-off.
Farmers will be assessing losses in coming days.
